We’re excited to share that we’re entering a new chapter with Deaf Sailing — Salt & Light.
Over the past several months, our family has been learning, growing, exploring, and adjusting to life aboard our sailboat. We’ve shared many short moments along the way, but there is so much more happening behind the scenes that we want to tell.
So we’re going deeper.
We are working on releasing more regular YouTube videos and stories, along with weekly blogs here on DeafSailing.com.
Our goal is to share more than beautiful sailing destinations.
We want to share what it is really like for a Deaf family raising two daughters while living and traveling aboard a sailboat.
That means sharing the adventures, the mistakes, the hard days, the funny family moments, the repairs, the passages, the places we visit, and the lessons we are learning along the way.
We also want to share more about what sailing looks like through a Deaf perspective.
How do we communicate while docking?
How do we handle VHF radio communication?
What does night sailing look like when you cannot hear alarms, engines, or sounds around the boat?
How do our daughters experience growing up while constantly exploring new places?
And most importantly, how is God shaping our family through this journey?
There are many stories we have not told yet.
We want YouTube to become the place where you can follow the bigger story of our journey, while our weekly blog will give us space to slow down, reflect, share photos, explain what happened behind the scenes, and write about the things that cannot always fit into a short video.
Our sailing journey is still unfolding.
We don’t know exactly where every season will take us, but we hope you’ll come along.
